Blekingetrafiken Schedules 2026

Blekingetrafiken is the public transport authority for Blekinge, Sweden’s smallest mainland county. Buses, trains and boats sit inside one ticketing system, which is why 127 water routes and 558 departures appear here under a single operator name. Almost none of them are ferries in the usual sense.

Most of the network is measured in minutes

The busiest pair in our data is Ekenäs to Karön and back — five minutes, 30 departures in each direction. Second is Karlshamn to Kastellet at five to ten minutes. Across the whole operator the range runs from 5 to 70 minutes, and the short end is where the volume sits.

Sixty sailings a day, three months a year

That Karön frequency comes with a condition the timetable does not show. Ronneby’s archipelago season runs June to early September. Karlshamn’s runs May to September. In Karlskrona, sailings from Fisktorget start in May and finish at the end of September, while the Handelshamnen boats to Hasslö, Sturkö and Trummenäs run all year. A route with sixty daily departures and a route with eleven can be equally useless in February, and the difference between them is not frequency.

Nogersund to Hanö is the one that never stops

Nogersund to Hanö runs year round, aboard M/F Vitaskär, and the company times it at 25 minutes. Our data has the return leg at 30, with eleven departures each way. Hanö is a working island in the Baltic rather than a summer destination that empties in autumn, and the service reflects that.

A city built on islands, stitched together by boat

A large share of those 127 routes are quay-to-quay hops inside Karlskrona: Handelshamnen, Fisktorget, Marinmuseum, Pottholmen, Dragsö, Brändaholm, Saltö, Björkholmen, Kungsbrotrappan. Five minutes between most of them. The naval museum has its own landing stage on the network, which tells you what kind of city this is.

The Nättrabyån run is a river trip on a rebuilt steamer

From Fisktorget the boat to Nättraby is M/F Axel, a converted steamship, and the route leaves the open water to head up the Nättrabyån river. On the way it passes the old powder house on Ljungskär and the allotment cottages at Brändaholm. It is scheduled transport, sold on the same ticket as a county bus, and it is also a river cruise.

Four archipelagos, not one

The county’s water services are organised by municipality and they do not connect to each other: Karlskrona, Ronneby, Karlshamn and Sölvesborg each have their own archipelago traffic, seasons and terminals. Tärnö is the largest island in the Karlshamn group; Tjärö, further east, is a nature reserve. Planning a trip that crosses from one municipality’s network into another means going ashore and travelling overland.
