Ferries from Karön brygga

Karön runs to Ekenäs in five minutes, with 60 sailings from 10:00 to 21:45 operated by Blekingetrafiken. Karön is a small wooded island off the Blekinge coast that was laid out as a bathing resort in the nineteenth century and still has the pavilions and paths from that period. The late first departure at ten in the morning marks this as a leisure service rather than a commuting one — the island has few permanent residents and the timetable follows visitor hours. Ronneby, the town inland from Ekenäs, grew as a spa resort in the same period the island's bathing facilities were built. The island is small enough to walk around in under an hour, and its paths were laid out as part of the original resort design.
