Ferries from Hanö brygga

Twenty-five minutes out to the island and 30 back, 11 sailings a week in each direction. Hanö to Nogersund runs from 08:45 to 20:25 under four day patterns — 22 movements in all.

Nothing sails before nine in the morning or after half past eight at night — the island's day is bracketed by the boat.

Hanö lies in the Baltic off the Blekinge coast, a granite island with around 60 residents, a lighthouse, and an English cemetery: the Royal Navy used the anchorage as a base during the blockade of 1810–12 and buried its dead here. Blekingetrafiken runs the ferry as regional transport. The bay outside is one of the few places in the Baltic where the water is deep and clear enough for the island to have been a naval station at all.
