Ferries from Kungsholmen brygga

Kungsholmen and Drottningskär face each other across the channel, and the timetable connects them in 10 minutes: departures at 11:40 and 16:40, with Tjurkö five minutes the other way at 09:30 and 14:30.

The Dragsö boats reach here at 08:50 and 13:50 after 40 minutes. Fourteen sailings a week on every leg, daily, with Blekingetrafiken.

The two forts on either side of this water were built to close the approach to Sweden's naval base: Kungsholm Fort with its circular harbour cut into the island, Drottningskär Citadel opposite. Kungsholm is still an active military installation, which is unusual for a scheduled ferry call — access to the fort itself is restricted, and the boat serves the jetty rather than the fortress behind it.
