Small Cyclades Lines is the family-run local ferry that ties the tiny Small Cyclades islands to the rest of Greece. Its little boat, the Express Skopelitis, has been the lifeline of these remote Aegean islands for decades, run by the Skopelitis family of Naxos.
Naxos through the Small Cyclades
The daily service runs from Naxos to Irakleia and on through Schinoussa, Koufonisia and Donousa to Amorgos — the only regular link for islands too small for the big ferries. It carries islanders, their supplies and summer visitors on a route that stitches the little Cyclades together.
A hardy little ferry
The Express Skopelitis, built in 1986, is famous for sailing when larger ferries stay in port in bad weather, and equally famous for rolling in the Aegean swell. It carries foot passengers and a few vehicles; fares are in euros, bought on board or through Naxos agencies.
