About the Donousa – Koufonisi crossing
Donousa is the far end of the line, and the boat only comes back from it three mornings a week. The Express Skopelitis casts off at 09.25 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays and is alongside at Koufonisi at 10.30 — 65 minutes.
The nights the ship stays
Those three departures exist because the Skopelitis has moored at Donousa overnight, arriving the previous evening at 17.55. On the other days of the week she stops short at Koufonisi instead, and Donousa gets no call from Small Cyclades Lines at all. The island's ferry week is built around where one small ship happens to sleep.
The other way off the island
Blue Star Ferries also serves Donousa, but on an unrelated pattern: a 20.50 departure running straight to Naxos on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, alongside at 22.00. That sailing bypasses Koufonisi entirely. For the island-to-island hop, the morning Skopelitis is the only option.
