About FRAM
FRAM is the public transport brand of Møre og Romsdal, the fjord county on Norway's north-west coast between Bergen and Trondheim. Alongside its buses, it runs one of Norway's densest ferry networks — the car ferries and fast boats that serve a fjord-cut region where the water is often a shorter route than the road.
Fjord crossings and the Geirangerfjord
Frequent car ferries link the towns and peninsulas — Furneset–Molde, Vestnes–Molde and a web of Sunnmøre crossings — while fast passenger boats (hurtigbåt) run out from Ålesund to the islands and along the coast. In summer FRAM's boat also sails the Geiranger–Hellesylt route through the UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord, one of the most spectacular ferry rides in the world.
One ticket across the county
Buses and boats share the same FRAM ticketing, planned and bought in the FRAM app or online, priced by zone. Møre og Romsdal has been at the forefront of ferry electrification, and a growing share of these crossings now runs on battery power.
