About

About Sekken kai

Sekken runs to Molde in 35 minutes, 34 sailings from 06:10 to 22:30, operated by FRAM. Sekken is an island in the Romsdalsfjord with a couple of hundred residents and no bridge; the ferry is its entire connection to Molde, the county town. The crossing is longer than most in the region because it runs the length of a fjord arm rather than straight across one. Service ends at half past ten, and there is nothing after it. Molde on the mainland side is known for its jazz festival each July, when the ferry carries a considerably heavier load than its usual island traffic. The island's road runs a few kilometres from the quay to the far shore, and there is no through route beyond it.
