Wyker Dampfschiffs-Reederei (W.D.R.) is the ferry company of the North Frisian islands of Germany. Founded in 1885 and based at Wyk auf Föhr, it is the principal lifeline for the inhabited islands of Föhr and Amrum, carrying some 1.8 million passengers a year across the Wadden Sea.
Föhr, Amrum and the Halligen
Its car-and-passenger ferries sail from the mainland port of Dagebüll to Wyk (Föhr) and Wittdün (Amrum), and a second line from Schlüttsiel serves the tiny tidal Halligen of Hooge and Langeneß. All of it crosses the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea.
