About the Fodnes ferjekaiMannheller ferjekai crossing

Fifty-eight departures from 00:30 to 23:30, and every single one runs seven days a week. No weekday version, no Sunday version, no seasonal edition — this is a road that happens to cross water.

Every twenty minutes from six in the morning

From 06:00 to 22:40 the boats leave at :00, :20 and :40 without a break — three an hour for seventeen hours. Overnight the interval opens to sixty minutes and never stops: 23:30, then 00:30, 01:30, 02:30, 03:30, 04:30, 05:30 and straight into the day.

Fifteen minutes across the Sognefjord

1.5 nautical miles between Fodnes on the south bank and Mannheller on the north. The E16 runs through both quays, and without this crossing the road between eastern Norway and Sogn has no continuous route.

The listing turns over but the service does not. On a national road crossing, a twenty-four-hour timetable with a single calendar is the point rather than a curiosity.
