About the SplitDubrovnik crossing

One departure a day, at 08:00, and it takes four and a half hours. Krilo’s catamaran covers roughly 110 nautical miles down the Dalmatian coast — by a distance this is the longest scheduled coastal run in Croatia that most travellers will consider, and the 270-minute passage time reflects that rather than any slowness of the boat.

Miss it and there is no second chance

Because the service is once daily, the schedule has no redundancy at all. There is no afternoon alternative and no evening sailing; a missed 08:00 means a bus, a car, or a day lost. Fares start around €25, which for the distance covered is modest.

A passenger boat, not a car ferry

This is a fast catamaran carrying foot passengers only. Anyone travelling with a vehicle between the two cities is looking at the coast road instead, which is longer in time than the boat and crosses into Bosnia and Herzegovina unless the Pelješac bridge is used.

Summer only

The sailing is timetabled from 1 June to 30 September 2026. Outside those dates this direct link does not run, and the journey has to be broken at one of the islands or made overland.

Your destination

About Dubrovnik

Ferries do not leave from the Old Town. Every sailing — the catamarans to Mljet and Korčula, the Elaphiti islands boat, the overnight ship to Italy — departs from Gruž, about 3 km northwest along the coast. Getting that one fact right saves an unpleasant morning, and the rest of the planning follows from which of the four kinds of vessel you actually need.
