Santa Cruz de La Palma to Arrecife Ferry

The crossing from Santa Cruz de La Palma to Arrecife links the two islands at opposite ends of the Canary archipelago: green, volcanic La Palma in the far west and the low, sun-baked island of Lanzarote in the east. This is one of the longest single-ticket ferry journeys in the Canaries, and it is worth understanding before you book.

An indirect, long-haul crossing

There is no straight sailing between these two ports. The service is operated by Naviera Armas (Armas Trasmediterránea) as a through-ticket that routes eastward across the archipelago, typically calling at Gran Canaria and Tenerife on the way. As a result the total scheduled journey time is around 28 hours 30 minutes, and departures are limited to roughly one sailing per week. Because the itinerary passes through intermediate ports, timings can shift with the wider inter-island schedule, so always confirm the exact departure day when you reserve.

Ship and on-board comfort

The route is normally served by the ropax vessel Ciudad de Valencia. Given the overnight duration, cabins are the sensible choice: interior and exterior cabins with two or four berths are available, alongside reclining seat areas. On-board you will usually find a cafeteria and restaurant service, lounges and a pet-relief area.
