The Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to Santa Cruz de La Palma ferry, run by Naviera Armas (Armas Trasmediterránea), connects the largest city in the Canary Islands with the capital of La Palma, the green, north-western ‘Isla Bonita’.

A long, indirect route via Tenerife

La Palma lies at the far western edge of the archipelago, so there is no direct crossing from Gran Canaria. The Armas service is a conventional, multi-leg ferry that routes via Tenerife, with a total scheduled time of around 11 hours. It runs roughly eight sailings per week as part of the wider Armas network, and some itineraries involve a connection or change of vessel at a Tenerife port.

From there it is easy to reach the Caldera de Taburiente, the island's volcanic ridges and its famous dark-sky observatories.
