About the Piraeus – Chania crossing
The Piraeus to Chania ferry is the main overnight sea link between Athens' port of Piraeus and western Crete. Ships dock at the port of Souda, about 7 km east of Chania town, after a crossing of roughly 6 hours 30 minutes. The signature link is the overnight boat from Piraeus (Athens): it sails in the evening and lands you at Souda soon after dawn, roughly a 9-hour crossing.
