About the KyreniaAnamur crossing

The Kyrenia (Girne)–Anamur route is the northbound return leg of Akgünler Denizcilik's seasonal fast-ferry link between Northern Cyprus and the Turkish mainland. Departing Girne harbour in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the high-speed passenger craft reaches Anamur on Turkey's central Mediterranean coast (Mersin province) in about 1.5 hours — one of the fastest sea connections off the island, because Anamur lies at the nearest point of the Turkish mainland to Cyprus.

The service is worked by the Akgünler 3, a seat-only high-speed ferry carrying up to roughly 386 passengers. As on the outbound leg, this is a foot-passenger service only: vehicles are not carried on the Anamur line. Anyone shipping a car back to Turkey must instead use Akgünler's Girne–Taşucu RoPax crossings, which take around 2.5 hours by fast ferry (or about five hours on the overnight Via Mare, which also offers cabins).

For 2026 the published operating window is seasonal — roughly early May to late June — with sailings six days a week, every day except Saturday. As a demand-led summer line the dates and weekly frequency can shift from year to year, so always confirm the live timetable. Fares are dynamic, starting around 2,000 TL and climbing with occupancy.

This is an international departure from Northern Cyprus into Turkey, so a valid passport is required and passport and customs control is completed at Girne port before boarding. Tickets are available through Akgünler's website and app, at its Girne, Gazimağusa and Lefkoşa offices, and via the call centre on 444 4364. Arrive with time to spare for border checks, especially at peak summer weekends.
