About

About Akgunler Denizcilik

Akgünler Denizcilik connects Northern Cyprus with the Turkish mainland, sailing to Girne (Kyrenia) from Taşucu and Mersin, with a further route between Girne and Anamur.

From tourism into shipping

The parent company has served Turkish Cypriot tourism since 1978, and moved into shipping in 1999, building the operation up through continued investment. It is now the largest passenger and freight carrier in Northern Cyprus.

A fleet built for two different jobs

Six vessels split by purpose: one passenger-only fast sea bus, two fast sea buses that also carry vehicles, one roro passenger ship and two roro cargo ships. That mix lets the company move tourists and freight on the same routes without compromising either.

Certification

The company and its ships hold the International Safety Management Certificate (ISM) and the International Ship and Port Facility Security Certificate (ISPS), and are classed and continuously surveyed by Lloyd's.

Practical

The SeaMile programme covers frequent travellers. The call centre answers every day from 08:00 to 22:00 — 09:00 to 18:00 on public holidays — on +90 392 444 4364.
