Ciutadella to Alcúdia Ferry

The Ciutadella (Menorca) to Port d'Alcúdia (Mallorca) ferry is the return leg of the shortest Menorca–Mallorca crossing, linking Menorca's historic western capital with the north coast of Mallorca. It is the fastest way to move between the two islands and a popular option for travellers combining both on a single Balearic trip.

Operators and vessels

This corridor is unusually well served: on a busy day the Ciutadella–Alcúdia axis can see up to around nine sailings, roughly 33 crossings a week across the various operators. Baleària is the backbone, providing about three daily sailings with its high-speed Margarita Salas and conventional ferries such as the refurbished Jaume. Menorca Lines adds around one daily sailing, and Trasmed and other operators also appear on the route.

Crossing time and schedule

Most vessels complete the trip in about 1 hour 5 minutes; the fastest, Baleària's Margarita Salas, does it in roughly 1 hour. Sailings run through the day, with the first departure from Ciutadella at around 07:00 and the last at about 22:30 in high season. Winter timetables are lighter, so confirm your date.

Practical details

You can bring a car, motorcycle, pet and luggage, but garage space is limited and books out quickly in summer — reserve as early as you can. Balearic residents receive discounted fares. Arriving into Alcúdia puts you close to Mallorca's north and northeast: Port de Pollença, Playa de Muro, Can Picafort and Formentor are all within easy reach, making it a convenient landing point if you are not heading straight for Palma.
