About the OslobDipolog crossing

The Oslob to Dipolog route is a relatively new Cebu–Mindanao sea link launched by Lite Shipping Corporation (Lite Ferries) in late 2024, connecting the southern Cebu town of Oslob with Dipolog City, the capital of Zamboanga del Norte. It was inaugurated with a brand-new 72-metre, IACS-classed vessel, the M/V Lite Ferry Seven, a roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) ship built for combined passenger and rolling-cargo service. As a RoRo it loads private vehicles, motorcycles and freight trucks alongside foot passengers, giving Zamboanga Peninsula a direct commercial gateway toward Cebu that previously required longer detours.

Ships depart from Mainit port in Oslob and dock at the LGU-operated Dipolog City ferry port, crossing the Bohol Sea in about 6 hours. Most sailings call at Dumaguete on Negros Island en route, so Dipolog-bound passengers effectively ride the Oslob–Dumaguete–Dipolog string. According to the operator's launch schedule, Oslob-to-Dipolog sailings run in the evening (around 6:00 PM) on alternating days, with the return Dipolog-to-Oslob legs departing in the early morning (around 2:00 AM); aggregator listings occasionally show more frequent departures, so the day-of-week pattern should be reconfirmed. Passenger fares are budget-friendly, with standard seats around ₱640 and tourist class near ₱710, plus separate vehicle tariffs; a June 2026 Lite Ferries fare reduction may push these lower. This crossing is especially useful for road-trippers and traders moving between southern Cebu, Negros and the Zamboanga Peninsula in a single ticketed journey.
