Dapitan to Oslob Ferry

The Dapitan to Oslob crossing links the northern tip of Zamboanga del Norte in Mindanao with the far-southern town of Oslob in Cebu, sailing across the Bohol Sea. The service is operated by Lite Ferries (Lite Shipping Corporation) using a roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) vessel — the same class of ship that introduced the Oslob–Dipolog corridor, the 72-metre M/V Lite Ferry Seven. Because it is a RoRo, the ship carries not just foot passengers but private cars, vans, motorcycles and rolling cargo, which makes it a working freight-and-passenger lifeline rather than a tourist fastcraft.

Departures leave from the Dapitan (Pulauan) port and arrive at Mainit port in Oslob, on Cebu's southeastern coast near the whale-shark town of Tan-awan. Most sailings are routed through Dumaguete on Negros, where the vessel calls before continuing to Oslob, so the published crossing time runs roughly 6 to 8 hours depending on whether your ticket is direct or via the Dumaguete stop. Service is not daily — it runs a few times a week, typically with an overnight or early-morning departure, so schedules must be confirmed close to travel. Fares sit in the budget band, broadly ₱760–₱920 for standard and tourist-class passenger seats, with separate tariffs for vehicles. Lite Ferries announced a fleet-wide fare reduction in mid-2026, so current prices may be lower than older listings. This is a practical route for travellers connecting Mindanao's Dapitan (gateway to Dipolog and the Rizal shrine) with southern Cebu without backtracking through Cebu City.
