Dumaguete to Manila Ferry

The Dumaguete to Manila ferry connects the university city on the southeastern tip of Negros Oriental with the national capital, sparing travellers the long overland-plus-multiple-ferry alternative. It is a long-haul overnight passage run by 2GO Travel on a fixed weekly timetable.

Vessel and schedule

2GO serves the route with the RoRo vessel St. Michael the Archangel, which works the Manila–Dumaguete–Dipolog line. Northbound sailings depart Dumaguete Port on Tuesday mornings (around 5:30 AM) and arrive at Manila's North Harbour (Pier 2 area, Tondo). The open-sea passage of about 750 kilometres up through the Visayas is commonly cited at roughly a day and a half to two days at sea, so passengers spend at least one full night, and often two, aboard.

On board and fares

The ship offers tiered accommodation, from open Mega Value and Super Value decks to tourist berths, 4-person cabins and private staterooms. Passenger fares broadly fall in the ₱3,900 to ₱4,400 band for standard classes, with premium cabins costing more. Meals, air-conditioned quarters and a purser's counter make the long crossing manageable. Being a RoRo, the vessel also loads vehicles and cargo at separate tariffs.

Good to know

• Service is weekly with a single departure day, so plan around the Tuesday sailing.
• Flying from Dumaguete–Sibulan airport to Manila takes about 90 minutes and is far faster; the ferry appeals mainly to those moving vehicles, heavy baggage or who simply prefer the sea.
