About the Dubrovnik – Pomena crossing
Two sailings a day, five hours apart, and no third chance. Krilo runs Dubrovnik to Pomena at 10:30 and 15:30, covering roughly 42 nautical miles in 75 to 80 minutes. Pomena sits at the western end of Mljet, the part of the island occupied by the national park, which is what most passengers are there for.
The timing shapes the visit
Arriving on the morning boat and leaving on the afternoon one gives a few hours on the island — enough for the lakes, not enough for much beyond them. Anyone wanting longer is staying overnight, because the second departure is the last.
A fast catamaran, so no cars
This is a passenger service. Vehicles do not travel, which is rarely a problem: the national park restricts driving in any case, and the western end of Mljet is walked or cycled rather than driven.
Summer only
Fares start around €20, and the service is timetabled from 1 June to 30 September 2026. Outside those dates the direct link does not operate and Mljet is reached by a longer routing.
