Ferries from Ranavik båtkai

Ranavik has two quays doing two different jobs. This is the passenger boat landing — 67 active sailings, with Sunde five minutes away and Leirvik fifteen — and it takes no cars.

⚠ The car ferry is a different quay and a different journey

Ranavik ferjekai runs the 40-minute vehicle crossing to Skjersholmane on Stord, 22 times. This quay runs fast passenger boats on much shorter hops, 67 times.

Same village, same name, incompatible services. If you have a vehicle, this is not your quay.

Borgundøy

A small island in the Halsnøy group with a population in the dozens and no bridge. One sailing is its entire scheduled connection from here — which is why a five-minute hop and a once-a-day call share a timetable that looks lopsided.

Where this is

Kvinnherad, in Sunnhordland, on the mainland shore facing Stord and Halsnøy. The district has more crossings per square kilometre than almost anywhere else in the country.

Boarding

Passenger boats are ticketed as public transport rather than as ferries, on the county's fare system. A regional travel card may already cover the journey — worth checking before buying separately.
