About Ventouris Ferries
Ventouris Ferries has been working the Adriatic since 1978. It is a Greek company, based in Piraeus, but its whole network hangs off one Italian port: Bari. From there it runs south-east to Durrës in Albania all year round, and east to the Ionian islands and the Greek mainland through the summer.
Two networks, two seasons
The Bari–Durrës crossing is the backbone: nine to ten hours, mostly overnight, with a daytime sailing added in high summer. It runs whatever the season. The Greek services are different — they appear in July and run to the first week of September, then stop. Igoumenitsa and Corfu are served most days, and a handful of sailings each month continue to Cephalonia, calling at Sami.
What the timetable does and does not tell you
Ventouris publishes its schedules as a day-by-day calendar rather than a weekly pattern, with each date marked by the ship working it. For the Albanian route it gives both departure and arrival — 22:00 to 08:00, or 23:00 to 08:00 in the peak weeks. The ships are the Rigel series — Rigel II (510 passengers), Rigel III (390), Rigel V (550) and Rigel VII — ro-pax vessels carrying freight on the lower decks alongside cars and coaches.
