About

About Tsui Wah Ferry Service

Tsui Wah Ferry Service (翠華船務) is Hong Kong's specialist in the long, scenic runs out to the territory's remotest islands — the kind of trips where the ferry ride is the day out. Established in 1986 as a ferry-leasing business, it grew into the main operator of the northern and eastern New Territories kaito network, and also serves the far south.

To the far corners of Hong Kong

From Ma Liu Shui, near the Science Park, Tsui Wah boats sail to Tap Mun (Grass Island), up the fjord-like Long Harbour to Wong Shek via Chek Keng, and — at weekends — to Lai Chi Wo, Kat O and the geology-rich island of Tung Ping Chau. In Sai Kung it runs the kaito to High Island and Kau Sai; on Lamma it operates Aberdeen–Yung Shue Wan; and in the south, weekend boats cross from Aberdeen and Stanley to wind-swept Po Toi.

Fares and timing

Fares range from about HK$20 (Ma Liu Shui–Tap Mun, HK$30 at weekends) to HK$100 round-trip for Tung Ping Chau. Many of these routes are weekend- and holiday-only and weather-dependent, so confirming the return sailing on the Transport Department's kaito timetable is essential.
