About
About Wong Shek Pier
Two routes leave Wong Shek and one takes ten times as long as the other. Tap Mun is 12 minutes away with 12 to 15 sailings a week; Ma Liu Shui is 125 minutes — just over two hours — with two sailings each way.
That long run threads the whole length of Tolo Channel and Tolo Harbour, calling along the way, which is why it takes two hours to cover water that looks short on a map.
Wong Shek is at the end of the road in Sai Kung East Country Park, the far corner of Hong Kong's New Territories, where the buses stop and the hiking trails start. Tsui Wah Ferry Service works both routes from 07:05 to 18:35. There is nothing here but the pier, a barbecue site and the water.
