About
About Reederei Frisia
Reederei Frisia (AG "Reederei Norden-Frisia") is the historic ferry line of the East Frisian islands in Germany, founded in 1871 and based at Norddeich on the North Sea coast. For more than 150 years its ships have been the lifeline of the car-limited islands.
To Norderney and Juist
Year-round ferries run from Norddeich across the Wadden Sea to Norderney — a tide-independent crossing — and to Juist, whose sailings follow the tides. All of it crosses the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea, a landscape of tidal flats and seals.
Fleet and fares
The fleet of around a dozen ships carries the Frisia name — car ferries, passenger vessels and cargo boats — led by the 2015 flagship Frisia III, with fast Inselexpress craft to Juist and a new electric catamaran, Frisia E‑I (2025). Fares are in euros, booked through the company's Frisonaut system.
