About
About Olympian Ferries
Olympian Ferries works two short Greek crossings that have little in common except the company that runs them: Piraeus–Aegina in the Saronic Gulf, and Rafina–Marmari across the strait to southern Evia. Both are commuter-and-weekender routes rather than island-hopping ones — an hour or so at sea, several sailings a day, cars carried.
The two lines
Piraeus–Aegina runs three times a day each way year-round: out at 08:10, 12:10 and 16:10, back at 10:10, 14:10 and 18:10, with the Sunday pattern shifting to a later evening boat. Rafina–Marmari is the busier of the two, with four departures on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and three midweek — the first leaves Marmari at 07:00 for people working in Athens, and the last Sunday boat back to Evia goes at 22:30.
What it costs
Rafina–Marmari is a flat €12 per passenger in either direction, €27–30 for a car and €8–11 for a motorbike. Piraeus–Aegina is €11.90 one way, €29–32 for a car. Discounts are substantial and worth claiming: children aged 5–10, disabled passengers and large families all pay half, under-fives travel free, and over-65s pay €9.00 on the Aegina line from Monday to Friday. Midweek return car tickets to Aegina are discounted by 31%, bringing €29 down to €20.
Fleet, and one route that did not start
Two ro-pax ferries carry the service — Evia Star on the Rafina run and Panorama — both with garage decks and passenger lounges. A third line, Agios Konstantinos to Skiathos and Skopelos in the Sporades, was announced but its start was postponed; the company's own news page carries the deferral notice and the route does not appear in its booking system. Timetables shift with the season and bad weather cancels sailings outright, so check before travelling.
