Zamboanga to Dumaguete Ferry

The Zamboanga to Dumaguete route is a long-haul inter-island crossing operated by 2GO Travel, the Philippines' largest sea-travel line, connecting Zamboanga City on the western tip of Mindanao with Dumaguete City on Negros Island. It runs on one of 2GO's big multi-deck RoRo passenger ships — the same class of vessel (such as the St. Michael the Archangel and sister ships that serve the Cebu–Dumaguete–Zamboanga string) that offers cabins, tourist seating and full onboard facilities rather than a bare-bones fastcraft. As a RoRo it also carries vehicles and containerised cargo.

This is not a short hop: the sea distance across the Sulu and Bohol seas gives a scheduled sailing time of roughly 16 to 17 hours, so passengers typically travel overnight and choose a berth by comfort level. Sailings are weekly, not daily — the Dumaguete-to-Zamboanga leg is commonly timed for a Tuesday departure, with the Zamboanga-to-Dumaguete return running on its own weekly slot, because this port pair is really one segment of 2GO's larger Cebu–Dumaguete–Zamboanga rotation. Ships dock at the Zamboanga City port and Dumaguete port. Accommodation-based fares span a wide band, from super-value and mega-value economy seats around ₱1,600–₱1,900 up to tourist class and 4-berth cabins near ₱2,000–₱2,700, with discounts for seniors, PWDs and children. Because it is once-weekly, 2GO recommends arriving at the terminal 3–4 hours before departure for baggage inspection, and confirming the sailing day, since bad weather in the Sulu Sea can force cancellations.
