Tagbilaran to Cagayan de Oro Ferry

Running the reverse of Lite Ferries' newest Bohol–Mindanao link, the Tagbilaran to Cagayan de Oro sailing lets travellers leave Bohol in the evening and wake up in Northern Mindanao. It opened on 20 March 2026 and is operated by the RoRo passenger ship Lite Ferry Five, the same vessel that works the CDO-bound leg.

From Bohol the boat departs the Tagbilaran City wharf three nights a week — Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday — leaving at about 7:00 PM and reaching the Port of Cagayan de Oro (Macabalan) the following morning after a passage of roughly 10 to 11 hours. The alternating days mean CDO-bound sailings fall on the nights between the Bohol-bound ones, so the single ship shuttles back and forth across the Bohol Sea through the week. Being an overnight run, it suits passengers who would rather sleep through the distance than spend a full day in transit, and the schedule dovetails with early-morning onward buses and jeepneys from CDO into the rest of Mindanao.

As a roll-on/roll-off vessel, Lite Ferry Five takes vehicles as well as foot passengers — cars, motorcycles and freight can roll straight aboard, with vehicle charges added on top of the passenger fare according to size. Seat and berth fares for the crossing sit broadly in the ₱1,700 to ₱2,000 band for economy or reclining accommodation, rising for cabins and tourist class. Trans-Asia Shipping Lines also serves the Tagbilaran–CDO corridor on some days, but Lite Ferries offers Bohol a direct night boat south. Check in at the Tagbilaran wharf at least an hour before departure with a valid ID, and reconfirm the sailing night, since this route is still new to the timetable.
