Plaridel to Larena Ferry

The Plaridel to Larena route links the port town of Plaridel in Misamis Occidental, on the northern coast of Mindanao, with Larena on Siquijor island. Operated by Lite Ferries (Lite Shipping Corporation), it is one of the few direct sea links between mainland Mindanao and Siquijor, sparing travellers the more common detour via Dumaguete. The crossing takes about 6 hours aboard roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) vessels that carry vehicles as well as passengers.

Service runs several times a week rather than daily. Departures from Plaridel have been scheduled around midday (near noon), with the return leg from Larena sailing in the small hours — roughly 2:00 AM — to reach Mindanao by morning; the exact operating days vary, with sources listing patterns from three days a week up to a Tuesday-through-Sunday cadence. Travellers should confirm the current calendar close to their date, as Lite Ferries adjusts sailings seasonally.

Accommodation is split into two main classes: an open-air Standard Class from about ₱880, and an air-conditioned Tourist Class from around ₱1,050–₱1,105, which is the more comfortable choice on a six-hour daytime run. As a RoRo, the ferry also loads motorcycles and vehicles, with motorbike rates from roughly ₱1,300 and larger vehicles such as SUVs costing several thousand pesos. The route uses Plaridel's port in Misamis Occidental and Larena Port on Siquijor, the island's principal cargo and vehicle harbour (as opposed to the passenger-focused Siquijor town pier).
