Turgutreis to Kalymnos is a recent addition — Sky Marine flags it as a new route on its own booking site. The crossing takes about 45 minutes and fares start around €22.50, before port taxes.

Why Turgutreis rather than Bodrum

Turgutreis sits on the western tip of the Bodrum peninsula, closer to the northern Dodecanese than Bodrum town. From its D-Marin quay the crossings fan out to Kalymnos, Leros and Kos, while Bodrum — half an hour east by road — handles the heavy Kos traffic and the longer runs to Rhodes, Symi and Patmos.

Before you go to the port

Book ahead: reservations require your passport number, date of birth and nationality at the time of booking, not on the day. At the port, collect a boarding card from the check-in desk before joining the passport queue — you cannot clear controls without one. Allow a full hour before departure.

Luggage

Normal personal luggage travels with you. Anything heavy or large enough to require a customs declaration cannot: it has to go by cargo ship separately. Worth knowing if you are moving belongings rather than travelling light.

Frequency

This is not a daily service in the way the Kos hop is. Sailings run a couple of times a week and thin further outside the summer season, so check the operating days before building an itinerary around it — miss the boat and the next one may be days away.
