Genoa to Tunis Ferry

The Genoa to Tunis ferry is the principal connection between northwest Italy and Tunisia, linking the major port of Genoa in Liguria with La Goulette (Halq al-Wadi), the ferry harbour serving the Tunisian capital. As the northernmost of the regular Italy-Tunisia crossings, it is also one of the longest, spanning the western Mediterranean in a single continuous sailing that most travellers make overnight with a cabin.

The route is served by Grandi Navi Veloci (GNV) and the Tunisian national line CTN (Compagnie Tunisienne de Navigation / Cotunav). Typical crossing time is around 22 to 24 hours, with the fastest scheduled sailings closer to 20 to 21 hours and slower ones a little over 23 hours on average. Frequency and seasons

Ferries sail year-round, generally on two to four days a week, with the densest schedule concentrated in the summer travel season when demand from the Tunisian community and holiday traffic peaks. In the quieter winter months departures thin out, so it pays to plan and reserve early for both passengers and vehicles.
