Ferries from Lensvik hurtigbåtkai

Lensvik sits on the southern shore of the Trondheimsfjord, and its express boats go three ways — 20 minutes to Hasselvika, 25 to Brekstad, 35 to Trondheim. All three replace long drives round the fjord.

None of these services carries vehicles. Anyone needing a car on the far side is driving round the Trondheimsfjord, which from here is a journey of hours rather than the thirty-five minutes the boat takes.

Park at one end and arrange transport at the other. That is how the local traffic works.

Where this is

Agdenes, on the Orkland side of the fjord mouth, an area of farms and forest with no town of any size. Brekstad on the Ørland peninsula opposite is the nearest place with services.

The road inland runs toward Orkanger and the E39.

Why the boats matter more than the sailing count suggests

Twenty-two sailings serving a rural district is a lot, and it is there because the fjord mouth is wide, the road round it is long, and the alternative for a hospital appointment or a day's work in Trondheim is most of a day in a car.

The mouth of the Trondheimsfjord is open to the sea and the express boats are cancelled here more often than on the sheltered inner runs. Check before relying on a same-day return.
