Værlandet and Bulandet

Fifty-five minutes out is the outermost inhabited group on this coast — small islands linked by bridges, facing open Atlantic with nothing between them and Shetland. Bulandet is often described as Norway's westernmost fishing village.

Nine sailings for that distance is generous by the standards of this coast, and the crossing is exposed enough that weather removes some of them.

⚠ The Florø link is three boats, not a shuttle

Thirty-nine minutes north to Florø joins two archipelago networks that are an hour and a half apart by road — but with 3 sailings it is a connection to plan around, not one to assume.

Askvoll itself

A small municipal centre on the mainland shore with a harbour, shops and the quay. It is the service point for the islands rather than a destination, and most people here are changing boats.

Season

Year round with reduced winter frequency. The outer runs to Værlandet are the first cancelled in weather.
