Yeşil Marmaris did not start as a ferry company. From 1980 it brought foreign flotilla yacht firms’ customers directly to Marmaris and ran their whole programme in Turkey, and in 1985 it started the first mass tourism traffic from England to Turkey. The Rhodes ferry came later, out of that business.

Fifty minutes, and it is the busiest of these crossings

Marmaris to Rhodes carries four departures between 09:00 and 17:30; the return carries three, from 15:00 to 18:00. At 50 minutes this is the shortest Turkey–Greece hop in our data and the only one with enough frequency to treat as a shuttle rather than a fixed appointment.

The return is compressed into the afternoon

Look at the shape of the day. Sailings out of Marmaris are spread across the morning and afternoon; sailings back from Rhodes are bunched between three and six in the evening. That is a timetable built around the day-tripper going one way — convenient if that is your plan, awkward if you wanted a morning back.

Not every departure runs every day

Some sailings run daily and others carry a restricted day mask covering part of the week. On a route where the return options already sit inside a three-hour window, losing one to the day of the week narrows it considerably. Check the date rather than the route.

Passports, and an earlier check-in than you expect

This is a border crossing between Turkey and Greece. Immigration is processed at both ends, tickets are usually issued against passport details in advance, and boarding closes well before the departure time on this page. Treat the published hour as the moment the boat leaves, not the moment you need to be there.

The company’s roots in yachting and package travel are visible in how the service is sold — as part of a trip rather than as transport. That is worth knowing if you are trying to buy a simple one-way passage: the product is often bundled, and the plain ferry ticket is not always the front-page offer.
