About

About Caremar

Caremar connects seven ports in the Bay of Naples every day of the year — Naples, Pozzuoli, Sorrento, Capri, Procida and two ports on Ischia. It is the year-round backbone of the bay rather than a summer excursion operator, and the timetable shows it.

Ischia has two ports, and they are not interchangeable

The route list distinguishes Ischia from Ischia Casamicciola, each with its own connections to Naples, Pozzuoli and Procida. They sit on opposite sides of the same island. Booking the wrong one lands you a bus ride from where you meant to be — the same trap as Hvar Town versus Stari Grad in Croatia, and just as easy to fall into.

A four in the morning sailing to Capri

The earliest departure in our data is Naples to Capri at 04:00, timetabled at 85 minutes. That is not a tourist crossing. It is the boat that puts workers, produce and supplies on the island before the day starts — the unglamorous half of what a year-round bay operator does, and the half that disappears from most published summaries.

The short hops are where the network really works

Ischia to Procida is 15 minutes. Sorrento to Capri is 30. Naples to Procida runs at 35 to 60 minutes depending on the sailing, and Pozzuoli to Ischia takes 80. Island-to-island legs like Ischia–Procida are what make a multi-island day possible without returning to the mainland each time.

Pozzuoli is the mainland port people forget

Most visitors default to Naples, but Pozzuoli sits west of the city on the Campi Flegrei coast and has its own services to Ischia, Casamicciola and Procida. If you are coming from the north or the west of Naples, it is frequently the shorter journey by land and the shorter crossing by sea — and it is quieter than the Molo Beverello scrum.

Same pair, different durations

Watch the individual sailing rather than the route. Naples to Procida appears at both 35 and 60 minutes in our data, because some departures run direct and others call on the way. On a network with this many combinations, the difference between a hydrofoil and a car ferry on the same pair can be most of an hour.

Reaching them

The call centre is open every day from 08:00 to 17:00 on +39 081 18966690. Our timetable holds a fraction of the full network — the operator publishes around twenty port pairings and we carry a handful, so treat an absence here as our gap rather than a missing service.
