About ANEN
ANEN Lines (Ναυτιλιακή Εταιρεία Νομού Χανίων) was a Cretan ferry company based at Kissamos in western Crete, Greece. It ran a distinctive peripheral network from the far west of Crete to the Peloponnese before ceasing operations around 2009.
Western Crete to the Peloponnese
Its ships sailed from Kissamos (Kastelli) to Kythira and Antikythira and on to the Peloponnesian ports of Gythio and Kalamata, as well as to Piraeus — one of the few operators ever to serve this out-of-the-way western-Crete corridor. Its flagship Myrtidiotissa became closely identified with the Piraeus–Kythira–Antikythira run.
A line that has closed
ANEN Lines ran into financial difficulty and ceased operating around 2009; its routes and islands were largely taken over by LANE Sea Lines. This profile is retained for reference — the company is no longer in service. (Note: it is a separate company from the still-active ANEK Lines.)
