Tegelön and Vasholmen are small islands in the inner Stockholm archipelago off Värmdö. The name Tegelön means brick island — brickworks operated on several of these islands through the nineteenth century, shipping their output into a city that was rebuilding itself in stone and brick at the time. The clay pits are long closed and the islands are now summer property, served by a boat that calls twice a day on weekdays.
