Rovinj to Venice Ferry

The Rovinj to Venice ferry is a seasonal fast catamaran connecting one of Istria's most photogenic harbour towns with Venice across the northern Adriatic. It is a passenger-only service, so it carries foot passengers rather than cars, and it runs only through the warmer travel season.

Practical notes

Because the catamaran is foot-passenger only, anyone travelling with a car must leave it in Rovinj or use an overland alternative. The crossing is exposed to the open North Adriatic, so occasional weather-related delays or cancellations are possible and it is wise to keep onward plans flexible. Foot-passenger fares generally sit in the region of 79 to 89 euros one way, and because this is a seasonal international route the precise dates, departure times and prices are set fresh each year, so confirm with the operator before booking. Arriving directly in central Venice by sea, with Rovinj's bell tower receding behind you, is one of the more scenic ways to reach the lagoon.
