About the LesvosAyvalik crossing

Coming back from Lesvos the same two options apply: 45 minutes by sea bus or 90 minutes on the vehicle ferry to Ayvalık. Adult fares are €35 and €30 one way respectively — the slower boat is the cheaper one, and the only one carrying vehicles.

Return-leg costs

A return ticket is €45 by sea bus and €40 by ferry, so buying the round trip saves against two singles. If you brought a car over, the vehicle return is €110 against €75 one way. Turkish port tax and exit levy apply on the Ayvalık side, not on departure from Greece.

Timing

Be at Mytilene harbour well ahead — the operator asks for two hours at the port, and Greek exit control plus Turkish entry formalities take longer than the sea passage itself on the fast boat. Tickets are valid only for the route and category printed on them and cannot be transferred.

Weather

The company states plainly that it accepts no liability for cancellations, diversions or route changes ordered by the Greek maritime ministry, the port authorities or dictated by weather — and does not undertake a full refund in those cases. On shoulder-season dates, leave slack before onward travel.
