About

About Zakynthos

Zakynthos — Zante on Italian-era maps and still on some tickets — has two ferry connections: a frequent mainland shuttle to Kyllini, and a twice-daily hop north to Cephalonia.

Kyllini: the mainland shuttle

Levante Ferries runs six sailings a day, every day of the week, crossing to Kyllini on the Peloponnese in 1 hour 15 minutes. Departures spread from morning to late evening — 07:45, 10:30, 13:00, 15:15, 17:15 and 21:30 — which makes a same-day return to the mainland straightforward.

Cephalonia: the island hop

Ionian Sea Ferries links Zakynthos with Cephalonia twice daily, at 07:30 and 18:00, in about 1 hour 20 minutes. The morning-and-evening pairing is what makes island-hopping between the two Ionians work without an overnight stop.

Both services are domestic. If you are searching under Zante, it is the same port — the island's older name is still in wide use.
