From its location on Tokyo Bay, the port in Ariake, Kanto, handles four domestic ferry routes. Ocean Tokyu Ferry is the sole operator for these services. This operator connects the Japanese capital with two destinations on other islands.
Passengers can sail south to Tokushima on the island of Shikoku. The other destination is Shinmoji in Kitakyushu, located on the island of Kyushu. The shortest crossing takes approximately 18 hours.
