Sunningen is served by eight sailings between 11:25 and 17:35, ten minutes to Lindesnäs and Unda, operated by Uddevalla Skärgårdsbåtar. The quay is on the Byfjorden close to Uddevalla, and the boats work a summer circuit between the small landings around the inlet. Outside the season the route does not operate, and the quays are used only by private craft. The Byfjorden is spanned by the Uddevalla bridge, so the boats here serve quays below and beyond it rather than replacing a road crossing.
