About
About Silda kai
Silda runs to Måløy in twenty minutes, with 14 sailings between 06:30 and 16:05, operated by Skyss. Silda is a small island off the Stad peninsula with a fishing community and no bridge. Måløy on the mainland is one of Norway's largest fishing ports, and the boat is the island's link to it — for supplies, for the school and for the fish landings. The service ends in the mid-afternoon, so it works to the island's day rather than to a commuter timetable. Måløy's fish landings supply processing plants along the coast, and the island boats time their arrivals around the working day at the quays. Måløy's harbour handles one of Norway's largest fish landings, and the island boats share the quay with the fleet.
