Ferries from Rørvik hurtigbåtkai

There are two places called Rørvik in Trøndelag and they are about 200 km apart. This one is the town on Vikna, the hub of an express boat network reaching six destinations across the Namdalen coast.

The other Rørvik is on the Trondheimsfjord and has its own car ferry. Navigation apps and booking sites confuse them regularly, and the correction costs several hours of driving.

Six routes, one to five sailings each

Sør-Gjæslingan

An old fishing station on a scatter of islands out toward the open sea, once one of the largest cod fisheries south of Lofoten and now largely without permanent residents. The buildings are preserved and the boat is the only way there.

The town

Rørvik is the centre of Nærøysund municipality, with the Norveg coastal museum on the waterfront and a Hurtigruten call at a separate berth.
