Ferries from Nedstrand hurtigbåtkai

Nine destinations, 43 sailings, and the longest is thirty minutes. Nedstrand is a node in the Kolumbus express boat network in the inner Ryfylke fjords, where the boat is not an alternative to the road — it is the road.

Only Foldøy and Nesheim have a usable frequency. The rest are single scheduled runs, often timed for a specific errand, and they do not run every day of the week.

Kolumbus, not a ferry company

These boats are run by the county's public transport authority on the same ticketing system as the buses in Stavanger. That is why they behave like bus routes — short hops, clock-face departures where frequency allows, and fares priced as local transit.

It also means a regional travel card may already cover the crossing.

Inner Ryfylke

The fjord arms northeast of Stavanger are steep-sided and thinly settled, with farms and hamlets on ledges above the water. Roads reach some of them and not others, and the pattern of which is which explains this timetable entirely.
