About

About Igbologun/Snake Island

Three crossings a day, each 10 minutes over 0.6 nautical miles: 06:30, 10:00 and 15:01. Eighteen sailings a week in each direction, Monday to Saturday, run by Lagos State Waterways — and identical times on both legs, so the boat simply shuttles.

Coconut Landing, on the Apapa side, is the mainland end. There is no bridge to Igbologun at all, which makes those three departures the whole of the island's public connection.

Snake Island lies at the mouth of Lagos Harbour and carries an integrated free-trade zone with shipyards, fabrication yards and oil-service berths alongside a long-established residential community. That combination — heavy marine industry and villages with no road out — is what the 06:30 boat serves. A 15:01 departure, rather than 15:00, is the sort of detail that survives from a hand-written schedule.
