Ferries from Fjällbacka brygga

Fjällbacka runs to Valö in about thirteen minutes, with six sailings between 09:36 and 16:04, operated by Västtrafik. The village sits below a granite cliff split by the Kungsklyftan ravine, where scenes from the 1960s film of Ronja were shot, and Ingrid Bergman spent her summers on an island just offshore — the square in the village is named after her. The archipelago boats run seasonally and the timetable contracts sharply after August. Valö is a small island offshore with a lighthouse, and the crossing gives the view back to the village under its granite cliff. Valö's lighthouse marks the approach to Fjällbacka's harbour, and the boat passes close to it on the crossing.
