About
About Fethiye
Fethiye's harbour is full of boats and almost none of them are ferries. The 2 scheduled sailings to Rhodes are the only international line here; everything else on the water is a gulet, a day-trip boat or a paraglider landing on the beach at Ölüdeniz.
The crossing
Fethiye to Rhodes takes about 1 hour 25 minutes, with 2 sailings in our timetable, operated by Tilos Travel. 4 active sailings across the port in both directions.
⚠ Seasonal, and thinner than the Bodrum or Marmaris links
This is a summer-only international service with a small operator and few departures. It runs, and it is genuinely useful for combining the Turquoise Coast with the Dodecanese, but it is not a route to assume.
Confirm with the operator for the current season before building an itinerary on it. Passport control applies in both directions — this is a Schengen external border.
What the harbour actually does
Fethiye is the main base of the Turkish gulet fleet and the starting point for the Blue Cruise along the coast toward Kaş and Kekova. The twelve-island day trip out of this bay is one of the most-sold excursions in Turkey.
None of that is scheduled transport, and none of it appears in a ferry timetable. If you are looking for a boat along the coast rather than across to Greece, that is the market you are in.
Ölüdeniz and the lagoon
The Blue Lagoon is about fifteen kilometres south over the hill, in a separate bay, and boats do not run there from the town harbour as scheduled services. Dolmuş minibuses do, frequently.
The town
Built over ancient Telmessos, with rock-cut Lycian tombs in the cliff directly above the modern streets. Dalaman airport is around forty-five minutes east.
