Ferries from Central Wharf (Aquarium)

Ten minutes from the middle of Boston to the airport, thirteen times a day. Central Wharf's Logan connection is the one genuinely useful thing on this list for a visitor, and it is buried inside a network built for commuters.

⚠ Thirteen sailings is a timetable, not a service

The Logan boat is excellent when it fits your flight and useless when it does not, and there is no fallback. The Blue Line and the Silver Line run all day; the ferry does not.

Check the specific departure against the specific flight. Then check the last one, because an evening arrival often has no boat at all.

Where the wharf is

Central Wharf is on the downtown waterfront beside the New England Aquarium, with the Aquarium Blue Line station immediately behind it. From most of the financial district it is a five-minute walk.

That position — a working ferry terminal in the middle of a downtown, with a subway station on top of it — is what makes the network usable at all.

The North Station link

Fifteen minutes by water between the two ends of downtown, avoiding the streets entirely. For anyone connecting from a commuter rail service at North Station to the Seaport, it is quicker than the alternatives at peak.

Timing

Weekday-peak shaped, thin midday, minimal at weekends. This is a commuter network with a good airport link attached, not a harbour transport system.
